All of them could have been safe if they had this useful gadget. The Garmin Fenix GPS Watch ($400) has been built for those who steer well clear of the beaten path, it lets users plan trips and create routes, record waypoints, and record GPS bread crumb trails while keeping them on track, and also features ANT and Bluetooth capabilities to talk with external sensors and wirelessly share data, an altimeter, barometer, and compass, a polyurethane wristband, an LCD display with an LED backlight, waterproofing to 50 meters, and up to 50 hours of battery life in GPS mode or 6 weeks in watch mode.
