Some cars give the feeling of work of art and this one is one of those that make you feel: “Wow!!! which car is that?”. The Spada Codatronca Monza concept car designed by Paolo, Ercole Spada and Domiziano Boschi of Spadaconcept is a perfect blend of angular lines and the feel of a vintage sportster. On the performance quarters too this is an impressive car having a twin-turbo 7.0-liter V8 good for 720 hp, a 0-62 mph of 3 seconds, and a top speed of 208 mph, Brembo brakes, OZ Ultra-leggera wheels, and a fully adjustable suspension system derived from the FIA GT3 series. The car is expected to go in production but the prices have not yet been revealed.

While watching a concert video of the legendary Michael Jackson yesterday, a thought crossed my mind which happens to cross the mind an umpteen number of times, which is :” Wow!!! He is awesome. ‘What-if’ I could also be like this?”. this simple one line thought opens up a world of possibilities and then our mind takes an endless flight of fantasy and for a moment we close our eyes and find ourselves in the shoes of the person we are thinking about. Be it MJ, you can feel for a while the crowd cheering for you and you dancing like him  or be it Sachin Tendulkar you feel like the crowd is shouting Sachin- Sachin for you. The feeling is enough to make you week in the knees and a wave of anticipation and desire electrify the whole of your body and soul.

In our lifetime we would aspire to be perhaps atleast a 1000 different persons (this figure is just based on my random thoughts right now). It can range from the guy next door who owns a mercedes, to a famous personality, to the Prime Minister of India, to Hugh Hefner, to Richard Branson, to Vijay Mallya, to Mukesh Ambani, to Shahrukh Khan, to a sportsperson when he wins an honor for his country or a prestigious title for himself. So, the choice is infinite and almost every day this thought crosses our minds that :”What-if?”. Man, this word is powerful , its giving the chills to me right now, the feeling of magnanimous power and filthy money…wow!!!

It is but in reality just a passing feeling and the second moment the lightning from the sky jolts you back to your bed, where you are sitting with a laptop and not watching the TV that is on and talking to youself, Hmm…what would i do if I were _______? (fill in the blank with the current person in your thoughts) and just keep thinking , thinking , thinking and guess what an hour has passed and we are still thinking. Then you say to yourself :”Put this time to some use dumbo, if you actually want to be like that someone”.

My 2 cents… you got to be extremely lucky, hard working , willing to take the risk to be any of the person you are thinking about. You are thinking about being that person because you are at some level not close to them. And you know what you would be fully charged and willing to go those extra 8 miles to reach where you think you should. But the very next day the thought in your mind would change to :” Kee Farak Painda hai???” (“How does it matter?”)… I am fine the way I am…huhh!!! But the fact remains , the next time you are watching the TV and Roger Federer lifts that Wimbeldon shield , you would be imagining yourself standing in London holding that shining shiled and having your 32 teeth out for the cameras to test their reflection quotient.

This is the power of imagination that lets us aspire our desires and be the person we might never be in our lives, not even near probably. So go on have fun, never stop dreaming, aspiring and desiring… because: “You never know!!!”

A poem I wrote inspired by my first two weeks at IIM Calcutta. Its been fun and hoping for more good times ahead.

New Life, New beginnings, Tides of change elicit a sigh,

Joy and apprehension intermingled exist when an adventure is nigh,

For even welcome change approaches with nostalgia in tow,

Some emotions unbidden; sorrow, joy, excitement, anxiety, alternately make me smile or furrow my brow,

Sorrow for things now lost, Joy of new beginnings, the excitement and anxiety of an adventure just begun,

A life in nature’s lap, with a definite promise of camaraderie and fun,

I cast my apprehensions aside and let the waves of a fresh beginning wash over me, making me smile,

With the latent anxiety hovering just below the surface, to be discovered every once in a while,

But then life’s an uncertain journey and I am a self-proclaimed undaunted explorer, a wanderer who seeks nought but the voyage,

Bring on the journey, the milestones blurry and the destination but a vague impression on the horizon; let our spirit never age.

Finally another chapter in the Transformer series opened with the “Dark of the moon”. The highlights of this part in the transformer series are awesome action sequences, the new hottie Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and great graphics.

The film is starts with the Cybertron(The home planet of the Tansformers) wars between Primes and Decepticons and a prime aircraft carrying the Einstien of Primes is destroyed by the decepticon fighters. This aircraft is carrying a technology that can change the shape of the universe and its creator Sentinel Prime and after being hit by the decepticon missiles it crash lands on the dark side of the moon. The NASA and the Russian space agencies detect this crash and hence send the first manned moon pilots in the form of Neil Armstrong and Aldrin. Upon landing on moon they explore the alien craft and confirm that we are not alone in this universe and there is some advanced alien race in existence.

From here on the scene shifts to the butt of the hottie Rosie and we see her as the latest girlfriend of Sam. She is looking awesomely hot in the movie and drives an even awesomer Mercedes SLS AMG. And her butt looks too good to be real in 3D :P. She is secretary of a multi-millionaire car aficionado while our Sam is on the lookout for a job.

Meanwhile, its shown that the Autobots and the NEST team have collaborated and help in maintaining peace in the world by conducting controlled strikes in the middle east and thus helping maintain balance and peace in the world.

Then we are taken to Chernobyl where the nuclear disaster is linked to the Russians experimenting with an alien craft’s part (its the part from the prime ship that crashed on the moon). There is an evil dragon shaped decepticon watching the complete operation and then another new mother of all drills decepticon called Shockwave comes ripping through the building and the primes and the NEST team are taken by surprise and Optimus is led to believe that the Decepticons might have found the crashed ship and need this part for something. Our heroes Optimus and Iron Hide travel to the moon to locate the ship and bring back Sentinel Prime and 5 pillars from his invention with them. Optimus brings Sentinel to life using the matrix’s power that brought him back to life in the last part. The evil bird decepticon reports to Megatron about the bringing back of Sentinel to earth and him being revived by Optimus(Megatron is shown in a Banshee form with a huge shotgun, tore out brain and transforming into an ugly and beastly looking armorized truck).

Then there is a matrix like highway scene with two decepticon chevvy trucks trying to kill Sentinel and our bumble bee’s awesome heroics in saving Sam’s life. Slowly the plot reveals that Sentinel actually wants Cybertron to reach in earth’s atmosphere and use the humans as slave workers to bring back Cybertron to its original glory, he plans to do this with the help of Megatron. And we see that there are humans on earth who have collaborated with Decepticons also just like our Sam who is a liason of the autobots. Sentinel shows his evil side and destroys the NEST headquarters and runs away with the 5 pillars Optimus brought along with him from the moon.

Now, the awesome action begins and the process of bringing Cybertron to earth starts to take shape with a huge number of decepticons being teleported to earth using Sentine’s invention, which is actually a teleportation device. Autobots are held responsible for this an they are exiled from earth to go and live on any planet of their choice. The decepticons empty out the city of California and start the process of telporting Cybertron. There are lots of action packed sequences and awesome cars in this part of the movie like the shockwave decepticon bringing down the entire building and the base jumping NEST team lading in the city.

All in all this part has great action and there is so much to write about it that it can continue almost forever, so its better watched in a theater near you. Though there is no strong indication for the next part in the transformer series of movies, but I would surely love to watch the autobots in action again and again. For the 3D movie goers, 4th row from the front, center corner. And the movie is quite long and it was interval free where I watched it and it was worth it. I would rate it 8.5/10.

Well, this might be your next ride to the office, its the YikeBike and will put your pocket back by about $2,000-$3,800. This bike or whatever you might call it is powered by a nano lithium phosphate battery that can be charged in 55 minutes, the 22-pound YikeBike offers a range of roughly 6 miles and a top speed of 14 mph. You would be sitting atop the handlebars near your hips, a 20-inch wheel in the front and an eight-incher in the back. You can buy this bike right now.
